Rapidly produced application development successes that lead to expanded responsibilities and a shift in the corporate culture.
Chief Architect
Primary directive was to provide oversight of the architecture which governed all application development in Wellinx and the parent company, Essence Healthcare. This required hands on review of requirements, projects, and deliverables from multiple development efforts across several departments. To aid in technical reviews and architectural planning, a team of 12 architects was assembled from existing employees and a supplemented by a small number of new recruits.

Architecture Responsibilities

  • Hands-on leadership of the architecture team in the creation of R&D, proof of concept, software design, & project architecture.
  • Lead a cultural shift from Waterfall to Scrum methodology in an unprecedented 3 months.


  • Engineering Management
  • Provide admin & leadership responsibility for a large engineering team which included architecture, development, interoperability, data warehouse, production support, design, and analyst divisions.
  • Assisted in training, review, and oversight of peer divisions consisting of a Project Management Office, Product Management, Quality Assurance, and Documentation teams as a bi-product of the new agile methodology which spread outside of the Engineering division.
  • Replaced 70 person Indian development team with a smaller more focused team consisting of local in-house resources:
  • Responsible for recruited and on-boarding 11 technical resources in 4 months.
  • Assisted in recruiting an additional 9 technical and non-technical resources in the same time frame.
  • Oversaw the resources and the completion of 5 product suites consisting of more than 25 software projects.


  • Zaio Inc – Tempe, AZ 11/2007 – 06/2008
    Quickly established a small product development team which effectively aligned IT efforts with business objectives across multiple product lines which supported several business units throughout the US and Canada.

    Chief Operations Officer / Chief Technology Officer

    Provide leadership and framework to actively identify needs and resolve critical issues. Lead cross-functional teams in analyzing, designing, implementing and supporting Web applications, databases, custom integrations and infrastructure to enhance delivery of services to internal users and national clients.
